![]() Hawkins’ “The Wake of the Dragon” is a first-rate tale of Victorian era adventure, intrigue, and aeronautical derring-do that never forgets that character is key to all storytelling. Sure, that stuff is in there, but the heart of it l Jaq D. Right out the gate, I need to say that the book is firmly in the steampunk genre but does not allow itself to get too bogged down in cogs, levers, top hats with goggles, coal dust, and several kinds of brass what-have-yous to overload the more casual reader. I really enjoyed the story and would recommend it to anyone seeking a great adventure-steampunk or otherwise!. Like sea-going pirate ships, flying dirigibles carry their own dangers, and Captain Bonny certainly pushes the limits of his ship and crew throughout the book. My favorite part was the steampunk aspect that added a different dimension to the traditional pirate tale. The loves, fears and addictions of the main characters help them come to life, making it easy to become caught up in their journey. The story is beautifully written in a style that seems almost classical, and the adventure it leads the reader on is nothing short of imaginative. Something noteworthy to add: You cannot leave the area you capture him in or you will be dismounted. He did not drop any loot when I killed him, as he didn't technically die. This allows you to ride fly around on your temporary mount for 5 minutes at 150% mount speed. If you click on him, you are granted a buff called Sturmkralle. When you kill him, you get the green arrow like you were to mount a vehicle. I was able to kill him as a 104 Havok DH on 5/19/16 by using all my CDs. When fighting Stormtalon, he will cast a melee attack, Electrified Scales, and a Lightning Breath. Stormtalon is a rare 110 located in Stormheim. EDIT: Updated to add the NPC - looks like it was added to the Wowhead Database 5/22/16 - woot!
